I've just bought first edition second hand in Dutch for 20 euro's. With some writing on the cards, to add the alterations made in the second edition, and using the second edition rulebook it works exactly the same. Played two times now and it allready soared to a top five spot among my personal best boardgames list.
The rule changes are very minor and easily accommodated (maybe print them out on one page and stick it in the box).
